"Wanted to love it, but it fell flat"
I was excited to try Onyx Coffee Lab because I’d heard so much hype about it, but the bag I got just didn’t hit for me. The flavor came across kind of flat and sour, but not in that bright, fruity way you hope for. I messed around with grind size and brew time a few times, and it still brewed up thin. Maybe I just picked the wrong roast, but for the price, I expected a lot more. I also reached out with a question and the email response felt like it was written by a robot, which didn’t exactly help the experience. Not the worst coffee I’ve had, but I probably wouldn’t buy it again.

"Slow reply and felt rushed"
They did get back to me, but it took a while. I was waiting longer than I expected, and then when the reply finally came, it just felt rushed. Like, yes, they answered, but it didn’t really feel like they took the time to properly help. The slow response was annoying, and the rushed answer made it even more frustrating.

I thought the coffee itself was good, but for me, the origin info felt a bit limited. It had some details, just not enough to really give me a clear sense of where it came from or what to expect

The coffee was fine, nothing terrible, but when I saw the price I nearly fell over. I kept waiting for some magical reason why it cost that much, but it never happened. For what I got, it just didn’t feel worth it at all.

"I got some Onyx coffee as a birthday…"
I got some Onyx coffee as a birthday gift for my brother, and I’ll say the packaging looked really nice. It definitely felt more special than just grabbing a random bag of beans from the grocery store. That said, I’m not exactly a coffee expert, so picking the right one was kind of confusing. I kept wishing there was an actual person I could talk to or ask for a quick recommendation, but the whole thing felt hands-off and impersonal. For something that’s a bit pricey, I would’ve appreciated some human help instead of just trying to figure it all out myself. My brother liked it, so in the end it worked out. I’d maybe buy it again for someone who’s really into coffee, but probably not if I just need a simple, quick gift.

"Shipping took way too long"
The shipping on my order took way longer than I expected, and the updates weren’t very clear either. I kept checking the tracking like it was going to magically change (wishful thinking, I guess), but it barely moved for days.
I totally get that delays happen, and I’m not trying to be dramatic about it, but it was still frustrating. The coffee might be good, but by the time it arrived, the whole experience just didn’t feel worth it to me.

"Cool Look, But Not Very Relaxing"
The cafe looked really cool when I first walked in, but it felt way too cramped and loud to actually settle in. The music was a bit much, and it was hard to have a normal conversation without feeling like you had to raise your voice. I was expecting a warmer, more chill vibe, but it kind of felt like they wanted you to get in, order, and leave quickly. Also, having to verify things more than once was annoying, it just added to the feeling that the whole visit was more stressful than it needed to be.

"Cleanliness made me hesitant to come back"
I stopped in expecting a clean, comfortable spot, but it felt a bit neglected. A few tables looked like they hadn’t been wiped down, and the bathroom wasn’t in great shape either. The coffee itself was okay, but the mess made it hard to enjoy. It kind of shook my confidence in the place, and I’m not sure I’d be quick to go back.

"My usual coffee was out again"
I tried to order a couple bags I normally really like, but for some reason they were out of stock again. I checked back later thinking maybe it was just bad timing, but still nothing. It’s a little frustrating when the main stuff you want isn’t available, so I ended up buying coffee somewhere else...

"Good, but moves a little too quick"
I can’t say it isn’t good, because I do like it overall. It just changes way too fast sometimes, and I wish it gave you a little more time to keep up.

"Expected a Bit More Guidance"
I stopped in and asked a couple of basic brewing questions at the bar, but the answers felt kind of inconsistent. One person told me to use a 1:15 ratio, and someone else just said to “grind finer” without really asking what setup I was using. The coffee itself was okay, but with the reputation this place has, I expected the baristas to be a little more knowledgeable or at least more willing to help. It kind of felt like they were trying to move me along rather than actually answer my questions...

"Decent, but not worth the price to me"
I tried the decaf and, it tasted a little flat and thin to me. It wasn’t terrible or anything, but for the price, I personally expected it to have more flavor and body. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it again.

"Subscription got a bit confusing"
I’m not totally sure if I missed something on my end, but I thought I had skipped a bag and still ended up getting charged. The whole subscription process felt a little messy to me, and it took support longer than I expected to help sort it out...

"Looks nice, but a little frustrating at times"
The website looks really good, and I was happy I eventually found what I needed. At first I was like, okay, this seems easy enough, but then I got a little annoyed because I had to click around more than I expected. A few pages loaded kind of slowly, and the menu on my phone wasn’t the clearest. Still, it wasn’t a bad experience overall, more like mildly frustrating in the moment, then fine once I got where I needed to go. It just needs to be a bit smoother.

"Doesn’t Work for Every Brew"
I expected it to fit my usual brews, but it didn’t. Maybe it works fine for some setups, but if you use different brews, it’s common sense to double-check the fit before buying.
